That should still be 2 years shouldn't it? Unless it was and it was just a typo.

My July 2019 Focus came with two years, but for some reason I got sent a message when it was just about to expire and they extended it by 3 months. No idea why that happened.

I’ve been paying last 2 months, after 2 year complimentary. It’s far from perfect but does come in handy sometimes. Should only get better with all new fords now having Ford navigation as standard (?) About Ford nav, it’s trying to be too clever avoiding traffic jams that aren’t there, also picking ‘shorter’ routes that are total bs and no obvious explanation of better routes. Apple maps is better in that respect. I’ve never used Tom Tom etc but what I’ve seen they are set up better than fords.

I complained to Ford about live Traffic not working for a couple of days, I pay the £3.49 a month so wasn’t having that. Today I had to pull over and soft reset it , it then started. Anyway I got this email from ford today….

Thank you for confirming that your concerns surrounding the ford pass are now resolved.
I would like to apologise for the inconvenience faced prior to resolution and would like to offer you a gesture of goodwill on behalf of Ford Motor Company of a £25 Ford Voucher. This voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of issue and can be used at any Ford dealership to purchase ford services, accessories, repairs of parts (excluding fuel and lubricants) for the vehicle detailed on the voucher.
Please confirm if you wish to accept this goodwill gesture. I will also require confirmation of:

As most of you know I don’t own my car (motability lease) . What should/can I spend £25 on? Even oil or coolant, it’s all included in the lease. I’ve replied to see if I can use it to pay for live traffic for 7 months…that would be handy. Plus it’s the only thing I can think of !

I don't see why you couldn't use it to buy live traffic, after all it is a Ford service

July 2020? You sure it wasn't 2 years free? Mine was which was July 2020. I believe they changed it to 1 year in August 2020. It had changed on my account to 1 year if memory serves me correct, but Ford eventually rectified that.

Ahhh, I bought mine used (It's a 19 plate) so it had already been going for a year.

Dead thread revival !

I’ve had live traffic for almost 3 years , been paying last 9 months or so. In that 3 years on 3 occasions I’ve had on screen warnings (without a route set) about collisions on roads miles away, debris on the road etc. I don’t have LHI …..now thinking I’m getting conned out of £3.49 a month and it’s never worked properly 🧐

got this ‘warning’ yesterday hence the post. This was plausible..I was on m77 , didn’t see any debris  on the road . It was quite specific too….0.1 mile ahead. (Terrible way to measure a short distance!) metres or yards would be better. Anyone else’s live traffic working (or not) like this?

I had a couple of messages like that on my road trip through Europe. I haven’t paid for live traffic though, so assumed it just came from TMC.

Was the messages on a Ford satnav route that you’ve set? Mine have been random, pretty useless tbh. What’s TMC?

No I didn’t have a route set one of the times. I was using CarPlay and it came out of that to show me the message.

TMC is the radio based traffic information system stand-alone sat navs usually rely on for traffic.

When I did use Sync 3 it seemed to know of traffic delays even though I’m not paying for it. Seems like a bit of a con when it can just use TMC. Although I guess it may be more reliable/available? But with CarPlay and android auto an option if I really wanted to get round traffic I couldn’t see the point in the live traffic sub.

You plugging in your phone every journey? If I’d Wire free CarPlay and charging I’d ditch the Ford nav. Thing it has tho is without setting a route it’ll give me the heads up if the local roads/motorway are chockablock

I rarely use CarPlay tbh. I only used it to try it out on the road trip. I don’t use sat nav every day only when I’m going somewhere new.

I use Waze via Android Auto, very accurate and it give live updates of any issues, the maps also show the congested areas.
