Just checked fuses ok  should I put 12v to fan to see if it works

you can certainly try. Also, give the connector a wiggle.

What else do suggest I check or do thanks

Fan relay

Thanks guys will have a go tomorrow and let you know how it goes

Hi today I check fuses relay and fan motor and they seem to be all ok anything thing else you guys can suggest I do thanks

It'll most likely be the fan resistor on a mk6.  It's at the bottom corner of the fan cowling, has a triangular base and a green cylinder coil on it.  Bridge it out with a jumper wire and see if the fan works then.

Hi tom just had a look at that and the green coil bit is breaking up do you mean bridge either side of green coil thanks

Hi just changed the fan resistor but the fan still not working any more suggestions or help thanks

Sorry, I missed that reply.  Did you try bridging out the resistor before replacing it?  You just have to put a small peice of wire or even an unbent paperclip in the plug terminals to make a circuit without the resistor in it.

Have you got a multimeter?

Hi tom I brought a new resistor as the old one look broken and yes I do have a multimeter I will go and try bridging the resistor now thanks

Hi tom just bridged the connector plug but fan still not working

You need to check for power and ground, see where you have it and where you loose it.

Ok, exactly as Stef says then, you need to see how far voltage is getting with the multimeter now.
