loud creaking noise through car, solved

Featured Replies

Hi guys, had a terribly loud creaking noise from my 2011 focus tit x since Thursday, thought it was the heat shields as I knew they were loose so I got them re-fixed on Saturday. Still the creaking was there, any how turns out to be the xenon headlamp level sensor, it's a ball and socket and rusted to hell inside.

Tried to loosen the ball end off but whole assembly was seized solid, I loosened the very bottom bracket and after 30 mins of flexing finally it was nice n loose and re-fixed after greasing, now it's silent.

Hopefully this will help someone 😊

Nice one, it's a bit of an obscure one so it'll probably end up helping someone else when they can't find any answers on youtube etc.
