HELP

Featured Replies

Hi all, I need some help.

I've just bought a space save wheel for my 2016 fiesta. The only problem is, now I've installed it, there's some give in the carpeted floor and it flexes.

I have been looking at stowage boxes to help keep the floor level under weight. But I don't really know if it'd work.

So hopefully you guys could give me some advice and help me out with what to buy and where from (links would be brilliant) and if it help with the boot floor problem.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Could you send the link to both your thread and the official one please?

Also, did it help your boot floor sit correctly so there was no bending etc?

Here you go

I haven’t tried it yet but the official one isn’t a space saver, it’s just a steelie so thicker

Mk7.5 spare

What about cutting a piece of plywood to the shape of the boot mat and either place it under the boot mat or gluing/stapling it to the boot mat; either way problem solved.

You can get a hard floor mat that they use in the van version. I was thinking of that but it’s about twice the price of the standard carpet and it’s also not carpeted.

Honestly, I went through a lot of options (and money) and the easiest thing is to buy that wheel. Also it’s thicker and if you put on a real tyre you don’t have the space saver issues of speed limits and distance.
