Car rattle now fixed!

Featured Replies

The last few days I have had a very annoying rattle. Did the usual thing of when driving holding various parts of the dash down to see if the dampening would highlight any loose trim. Turned unnecessary corners to see if the rattle was repeatable under any set of circumstances, couldn't find it. On cleaning out my car this morning, I finally tracked down the cause. The errant pack of TicTacs have now been returned to her handbag! Ggrrr... 🤣

My initial rattle was narrowed down to a loose RADAR key under the passenger seat carpet. It had bugged me for years.

Now have a new clunking that unfortunately doesn't seem to be 1) inside the car and 2) anything that I can find loose!

Hey, I'll swap you a box of TicTacs for a RADAR key! My council has been out of stock for months on those pesky things LOL

I buy off Ebay regularly, it never dawned on me to get one there! Thanks for the nudge...

Best one we’ve had at work, turned out to be a marble in the depths of the heater ducting under the passenger seat. Told her what it was, but would have been a marathon to remove, so it stayed there.🤣

my car had a strange sound when going around corners, sounded like something sliding. Turned out to be 5p in the plastic cubby hole by the back seat, cheap fix.👍

Careful with eBay ones, they sometimes don't work well.
