Featured Replies

So I've been looking for a project car for sometime and finally brought myself a ford focus 08 1.6. It's far from pretty and needs so.e definite TLC. Anyway looking round for a few parts etc (mainly body kits) and it keeps asking me if it is pre facelift or facelift?? I'm not going to lie have no idea and just looking for someone to help me out!!

The chassis on both models is identical; only the body panels and front sub frame panel are different.

The 1.6 Petrol cant be modified mechanically but most people build ST replica's

The seats and body panels are a straight swap; if fitting rear spoiler take time to silicone between boot and spoiler as theres a common problem where it leaks in around the bolts.

Also best modification for the 1.6 petrol is a Volvo engine cover as Volvo use the same engine; but a common problem with the 1.6 focus I'd that the seals from washer jets on the bonnet deteriorate allowing rain inside the bonnet,

This happens on all focus but it only affects the 1.6 badly because the water falls on top of the coil packs and fills the area around the spark plugs slowly rotting the engine from the inside.

Ford owners fit a plastic volvo engine cover to the rail top which shields from the rain saves you a fortune. I'm on here ten years now; I've seen all problems come and go
