Clunky noise when idle, griddy when reving

Featured Replies

Hello

The car is mapped at 206bhp (1.6 tdci econetic 2009), and this is the first engine issue that appeared after around 20 000km.

When it's idling it make a clunky noise from around the timing chain area. I had changed the full kit recently, but the noise is still there.

If i rev it, when it reaches maxx revs it sounds like a loose bearing (from that same area around the timing chain).

Any suggestions? Thanks

I did some reasearch and I narrowed down to 3 possible faults:

1. Oil pump

2. Injection pump

3. Crank pulley

Any thoughts?
