Mk6 2005 Zetec 1.25 Climate - Curious air con problem

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the site, but not new to Fiesta ownership.

I've just picked up a 2005 mk6 Metec 1.25 Climate, and I have an odd problem with the air conditioning...

Switch the fan on to 1 or 2, press the air con button, the light comes on, and the tone of the engine changes as the compressor kicks in, all OK!  If however, I switch the fan to 3 or 4, the air con light goes out... I'm sure this isn't normal... anyone have any ideas what it could be or come across similar before?

Thanks.

Steve

Does the vent fan stop in pos 3 & 4 ?

I think with the vent fan off, the A/C will shut down.

No, the fan speed goes up in pos 3 & 4

I'm a bit baffled - my first check would be all connectors tight, but definitely odd....
