Outside temperature showing 58c on display

Featured Replies

Good evening. The outside temperature on display is showing 58c which must be incorrect. I have looked in handbook and does not cover this. Also tried display settings and nothing here either. The car is 2015 fiesta black addition 140 1.0 EcoBoost. Any help appreciated.

Has the battery been disconnected for any reason?

Has the NS wing mirror been damaged?

Has the car been parked in direct sunlight all day?

The battery may have been disconnected as in body shop for front damage repair due to hitting deer.

Ns wing not damaged.

It has been hot but overcast today.

Ah well that probably answered things haha. The temperature sensor has probably been knocked and possibly hitting the radiator. It is positioned very close to it either way

I will take a look and see if able to find. Thanks for your help.

Also just check to make sure it's not reading 58°Fahrenheit rather than ~15°Celcius lol.

Isn't the temp sensor in the NS wing mirror on the Fiesta?

The battery has probably been disconnected or left to go flat while at the bodyshop though, that's the usual issue with these wild temperature readings lol.

Or a duff sensor.

Yes but apparently they are easily disturbed and can read all sorts unless positioned perfectly. So still worth checking
