FIESTA TITANIUM 2019 WIFI ISSUE

Featured Replies

Hi

My new Fiesta is prompting me to connect to wifi to complete software update

I press yes and I am able to connect to my home wifi or hotspot through my phone.

However I do not see the wifi connected icon at the top right of touch screen and when I search for updates it times out?

Any ideas?

I may be wrong but from what I’ve seen on these forums, WiFi updates don’t work in the UK and it’s best to turn WiFi updates off.

Thanks ElliotReid

Iv been searching for the last couple hours and was getting nowhere.

Are you able to link me to other threads regarding this?

I see you have the same Fiesta, is your wifi turned off?

As already stated wifi update does not work in UK or Europe it's best to turn off wifi updates otherwise you'll get messages like that. Won't affect wifi connections for other uses.

Thanks guys.

Ill give the usb update a try.

If the usb updates crashes the system does the warranty cover failures?

If the update crashes, you’ll remain on the old version. The update runs in the background when you have the system on. Failures occur but people just go again. The likelihood of crashing the entire system is in effect, zero.

Thanks for that, I didn’t know WiFi updates didn’t work in the UK - I’ve been plagued with that message since I got the car 3 months ago! I did do an update successfully via USB stick after I’d had the car for a week and uploaded the output file to Ford as instructed so didn’t know why I was still getting the prompts. I presume that’s why the ‘Scan for updates’ option never seems to finish?
