Stealing Fiestas

Featured Replies

I've just been watching a programme on the BBC about the increases in cars being stolen 'to order' and shipped to Africa, either from the driveway or via car-jacking. Do any of you worry about this happening to your Fiesta?

I do sometimes look outside the window, just in case... as it's probably quite a desired model. I hear that the Fiesta is the most stolen car in Britain. Then again, it's the most purchased so I guess that makes sense!

Just watched that meself it was bad when that fella was going to sell his house because he fought he wasnt getting his car back. i sit here of a night and every bang i hear iam running to the window to see if anyone has banged my car reason because i do that all the time is because for some reason there are to many bad drivers in my street.

Yet another good thing about an older car, i know that if it was stolen then A) the thief needs to get better taste and B) it wouldn't be the end of the world, although i'd be !Removed! off about losing my number plate!!

If anyone tryed to steel my car i think my alarm would wake the whole of the noth west up :lol: its nearly give me a heart attack when its gone off.

I saw this aswell and this did also happen to me when i owned my focus st three guys tried to break in my house it was agood job we own a staffie otherwise not worth thinking about really when the cops came around when i rang them they said that they were after my focus from the driveway since then had a grands worth of alarm fitted to my house like fort knox now lol quiet common in essex this sort of crime

Thats awful! I know a guy in the village next to me with a range rover vogue, he has 2 kids and they have broken into his house 3 times to try and get the keys, an awful experience!

At mine, I put it in the drive with a massive flood light over it and a Bullmastiff in the house + the keys are kept in my bedroom on the 3rd floor, they will have to got through alot to get there hands on Ray!

I'd be devastated if Fabio was stolen! Knowing my luck it's only a matter of time :( My last car was broken into on my drive because it had alot of ICE fitted, luckily something scared them off!! Most of the time my Dad's Civic is parked behind mine on the drive so mine's protected!!

I try not to think about it to be honest. Mine is parked on the street but in some ways I'm lucky. I live directly on the Seafront, there aren't any side roads for a good distance.

I think the only thing that makes it a little more secure is that it's reasonably busy.

I worry about it and i dont even have the darn car yet. Im getting ford to fit a CAT1 alarm, its on a drive, going to put a big lock on the gate its self( I know it just means someone will get bolt cutters if they really want it but wil deter some) But yeah, its not the car security thats the issue, a brick through window and the scumbags are in with your life and your car/posessions are at risk.

Hey Flic, dont know if you read earlier but a baby Fabio passed me earlier!!!

You have just reminded me I havn't named my car

How did you come up with your names? My old car was a S reg so I dubed it Sam (The Saxo)

Cant really make anything out of "WSE"

Hopefully the name will come to me

Im dead paranoid about my soon to be (Saturday) ZS, I heard the perimeter alarm is quite poor. May look into the new alarm for it. Wire it up to some Fog Horns an air raid siren and Police lights :D

It is very poor, im shocked at it actully. Will sound if, headunit is attempted to be removed, if the doors, boot, bonnet are opened/attempted to be opened without keys and if the car is attempted to be started with out the key.

If the window is smashed, no alarm will go off, if someone hits your car, no alarm will go off.

Have a talk with your Dealer about getting them to fit a Thatcham approved CAT1 alarm.

Im getting them to fit mine, going to have "tilt" sensors so that if the car is jacked up( for the alloys or to be towed) then the alarm will sound also.

Named mine Ray after my Grandad Raymond who passed away when I was 7, he was a massive part of my life and this car is a massive part of mine.

Be pretty hard to to steal my Fez and get away with it :P

Due to damage to other cars the driveway is now covered by CCTV :P

Sorry, Hope I didn't come across as insensitive with that last post

As for alarms, I may look into that CAT 1 alarm. I think the Street pack alloys are going to be targeted the most.

If someone touches my car I want it to alarm :)

I really hope Im just be extra precarious, Have to see how it goes week by week

How about WeSlEy?

My MK6 ZS was stolen from outside my flat.. in you guessed it.. ESSEX. I then thought !Removed! em and bought a brand new MK7 ZS fitted with alarm, tracker and steering lock.. if they can steal that.. then i'm giving up on life.

Good idea! How much are trackers? Am considering one...

I never give it a second thought. If they want it, they can have it, that's one of the reasons I have insurance. The keys are near the door, if they break in, the keys are there and they can take the 2 cars and they don't need to search, therefore wrecking my house, to find the keys. Also, it doesn't put my family, my dog or myself at risk with people who are going to go to extreme lengths to get the keys as the cars are the least important things compared to the house, family and dog.

Indeed, Keith. It's a lump of metal with bits of plastic and electrical bits in it. However nice, expensive or !Removed!-enlarging said lump is, it's replacable, unlike people, dogs etc.
