Hi I have a fiesta special editions 1.0l ecoboost 140  
I couldn't get my bonnet open so to took it to garage was told tht the bonnet latch had siezed due to no lubrication, had to have a new latch fitted, is this right or a common problem the car is only 4 years old (15plate). 

The service checklist says all hinges, latches etc done
