Bonnet catch

Featured Replies

I have a Ford fiesta special edition year 2015, I had to to take car to garage as I couldn't get bonnet open, was told by Ford that the catch had siezed and the catch is rusted due to not being greased at the service, can someone please shred some light on whether this is correct as it seems far too rusty for a 4 year old car

When was it last serviced - and was it a Ford dealer?

Mine came back from its first Ford service smothered in grease.

That does look unusually rusty. I think you mentioned on another post that you had a checklist showing that it had been ticked off by the servicing garage, so I'd be inclined to pursue it with them.

Having been caught out with a sticky catch many years ago, it's something I always check after a service, though my usual Ford dealer has never missed doing it yet.
