Hi all,

My drivers side seatbelt has been driving me mad lately, occasionally it will point blank refuse to allow me to put it on. It will release slightly and then just lock up. No matter how slowly or gently you pull it, it will have none of it. The only way I’ve been able to get the belt on is to fully retract the belt and pray it will release. Sometimes I’m sat in car for 5 full minutes just trying to get the belt on. Then other times it releases with no issues. So it’s a intermittent issue.

Does anyone know of any steps I can try to fix this? Or should I just take it into the dealership to be replaced? Thanks

    I had this issue when I bought my car from a Ford Dealer. I took it back,  explained the situation. Of course it worked perfectly when the sales man tried it. I wasn't happy with this and he talked to one of the techs. He confirmed that he had seen this many times before. They replaced it under warranty. No issues since and has been fine for the past 2 years.
