Hi im looking at geting a cheap fiesta thats been offerd to me its a 1.4 petrol 2008 it has an automatic gearbox thats presenting a problem heres the problem it goes through the 4 gears most of the time but sometimes it sticks in 3rd and if you turn the engine on and off it goes back into 4th. Apparently it has been to a garrage they diagnosed a wireing fault is this common and has anyone found and fixed the problem if so many thanks

    Is it a traditional auto box with torque converter or one of those modern autos which is like a manual gearbox that uses solenoids etc to change gear?
