57 plate ignition problem

Featured Replies

Daughters got an old 57 plate fiesta which won’t start, gone yesterday to look turn the key and no ignition lights come on the dash. But if I slightly pull down or push the key dash lights come on but can’t start the car.I did get the car started but just cuts out so I guess this is down the ignition.

am I right in thinking I need to change the ignition to sort this problem out,is there a way to make sure it’s the ignition and not key fob problem

Thanks in advance for reading this post

Key fob(immobiliser chip) problem would not stop the dash lights coming on. Take the shroud off around ignition lock and see if the electrical switch part is correctly attd to the back end of the metal lock part
