Reverse camera screen too bright

Featured Replies

If mine wasnt under warranty I'd have a go.  The screen is far too bright with no way of turning it down, this is particularly annoying when the camera is wet and then it;s just blinding AND useless.

I am about to fit the camera to my Titanium, once I have found the easiest path for wiring.   I have the camera and boot release here in front of me and am working out a method for incorporating a wiper  which looks feasible. A small servo can fit beside the camera on the right hand side but a solenoid shutter may be simpler electronically, just opening the lens when reverse is selected.

Linear actuator about £3.50 and now on order. Now to make a miniature wiper blade...

It isn't tinkering, Mavroz. I have been doing this for a living for more than forty years and there is a very strong likelihood that you own something I have designed or that somebody you know owes their life to something else I have designed.

For many people that may not have your technical knowledge and genius accumen, it is tinkering.... What I am saying if people start modding, chopping and snipping wiring looms, trying to add 3rd party parts and their car is still with the 3 year warranty period ,if things go wrong or damage something, they will get no manufacturer help as they will have voided the warranty on their car, probably costing them a fortune.

This is only good advice, not knocking you for personally trying, whether you design for NASA, built the ISS or lead Project Trinity etc etc.

Everybody knows this already.

People are free to choose to do this if they wish to. Would you prefer it were I not to offer advice? Would they?

This, to those that have reported the bug is a safety issue and owners are looking for a resolution. It is your right not to use it but personallly ridiculing those who try to provide detailed and explicit help is in itself discourteous and unhelpful

Or do you have a better solution to offer?

Yep.If under warranty and the owner thinks it is a problem or safety issue, take the car to their dealer to work a solution out.

And I haven't started ridiculing anyone... Yet. You should know this as you seem to know everything about everything else. 👍
