bonnet wont close after bump

Hi,

I was in a pretty low speed bump, and now my bonnet won't close properly. It closes on the safety catch but doesn't push the whole way down into the actual locking mechanism. Now, if I push the locking mechanism down with a screwdriver it does stay in place and unlock correctly with the handle on the inside of the car. It just seems the bonnet can't reach the locking mechanism or it does and can't push it down. Pushing it down manually does take quite a bit of effort so maybe its kinda stuck? But not sure if its meant to be like that?

The bumper is also slightly out of shape and I did replace the headlamp housing as some of the plastic connectors were broken.

 

Any advice on how easy the locking mechanism should be to move or what else to look at?

 

I can upload pictures if required.
