turbo actuator rod rattling

Featured Replies

i have just had my car looked at as heard rattling from the turbo when taking my foot of the accelerator, they have advised that the turbo actuator rod is rattling but this is normal as the common fault with ford fiesta 1.0l ecoboost is the actuator goes faulty however this is not the actuator but the rod, is this normal to rattle a tiny bit and its okay or should iquestion them furthe

I've not noticed it on a 1.0 before, but the old 4 pot 1.5 ecoboost I had did it a lot.

It has to be a bit loose due to the temp differences, it could sieze up if it was too tight.

If it's really noticeable, I'd compare it against some other engines, see if yours sounds abnormal and if it does, I'd ask for it to be looked at.
