Whats Gone Wrong With You Fez?

Featured Replies

was hooverin out my car before when the customer service team came out from jag too fix my dads and i was thinking... "not had much wrong with mine and i have had it longer"

so yeh has anything happened to yours yet?

Two tiny little (if annoying) things:

1. The car buzzes quite loudly when it has just got the key in it, has just been turned on or has just been turned off. We've had it diagnosed as being a climate control sensor.

2. The car creaks when turining quite sharply at slow speeds. i.e. coming out of a parking space, turining into a sharp junction etc.

Other than those little niggles, the car is brilliant!

picked up car on 6/3/10,

following day took it back to dealer due to driver seat broken and also washers would'nt work.

also have noticed a couple of times that the voice control has a mind of its own?.

apart from these teething issues not much lol.

STILL no airbags working in my car

Washer jets stopped working - fixed

engine malfunction notice - fixed

1 buzzing speaker - fixed

other than that i love the car

Im on second Fiesta in the space of a year, becouse my first one had

1. Squeking cluch Pedal. They couldent fix it.

2, THE MAJOR ONE!! its was itermiting starting, so when you went to start the car it woundent start and when it did, it reved at 400RPM!!

They had it for 2 week when i went on holiday and still couldent find the fault. So they had it for a ferther 2 Weeks and said it was the fuel injectors. so they replaced them and it was still doing it! They eventually replaced the fuel injectors 5 TIMES and still wasent working so told them i was getting solicotors involved and got a letter off one. Then eventually ford said we will replace the car, by this point it had gone up to 16K.

Only a few issues really that are worth noting.

1) Some little plastic tubing on the passenger footwell used for aircon fell off. It could have been because of someone in the car jamming something there which dislodged it, so maybe not a Ford issue.

2) Starter Motor died - basically the car was dead and wouldn't start or work. A ride on the AA tow truck and a few days with Ford later and all was good again.

3) Bluetooth Audio - I only have the Bluetooth System minus USB. It's clear that even though the system could support A2DP it doesn't. The menu on the car has a Bluetooth Audio section however it never finds the audio service on any capable devices.

Other than the above bits, everythings been pretty good.

Bonnet wouldnt shut. moved latch

washer jets. applied zip tie

Thats it and long may it stay that way :)

STILL no airbags working in my car

Do you test your airbags often? ;)

Mine is 3 weeks old and so far the rubber seal is peeling away on the passenger door. Also the drivers window sometimes makes a loud noise when closing - sounds like a trumpet.

Just spotted tonight, a tiny hole in my back box and is now blowing. Its first MOT is on friday this week

FFS!

Everything always happens at the wrong time :(

Couldn't of happened last week or in a few weeks time

Washer Jets seem quite common problem, shall I ask my salesman to fix the problem before i take delivery of my car?

Whats the actual problem, they just dont work? Where is the issue, wireing, electronical

Hmm i know it sounds a little bit deeper, thankfully its only a backbox and has split only slightly in the seem of the box itself.

Either weld or new zorst :/

ETA: Went and got it checked out properly today, turns out the "split" in my backbox is like a drain hole for the exhaust. Happy fkin daaaaaaaaaaaays :D

Washer jet problem

Pipe gets pinched in the left hand bonnet hinge. Just tuck it bac into the clip thats suupossed to hold it.

well were do i start, had the car 6 months and its been into ford 5 times and its going in again on thursday. Totally unacceptable. issuse have been...

1. bluetooth stopped working (fixed)

2. rattles from interior (still not fixed!)

3. poor starting (fixed)

4. crackling speaker on passenger door (getting fixed)

5. rear wheel bearing gone at 5000 miles (fixed)

6. and now the steering is playing up, very twitchy and tramlining alot at speed (hopefully getting fixed)

i hope not to be testing them at all

but the airbag light has been on for about 3 months now and im STILL waiting for my wiring loom to come.

Just 3 problems so far with mine since I got the car in June.

  • Flaw in the paintwork on the bonnet - resprayed whole bonnet under warranty.
  • Drivers door has a very small leak - had two door seals, first made no difference, second hasn't leaked for a couple of weeks so hopefully it's sorted it.
  • Fuel cap is now sticking a little - probably get them to look at it over the Easters Hols.

Stop passing wind then? :D

Just me? ok, I'll get my coat.

I have only had 3 problems with my Fez, which seems rather lucky compared to some (Although it is only a Mk6)

Steering wheel leather peeling - Fixed under "Good-Will"

Reverse gear crunch and problems with 1st - Clutch replaced under warranty

Squeaky back seat belt housing - Doesn't exist apparently

- bluetooth system packed in, had to take it to dealer to sort.

- passenger side door speaker rattling ridiculously, took to dealers only for them to turn the bass down and tell me theyve sorted the problem!!! shocking!

- Also just started gettting vibrations in the sterring wheel at 70mph, although thats probably got something to do with the stupid amount of potholes ive hit lately.

Other than that, fingers crossed, nothing else....

Love my fezzy!!!

- Engine malfunction error x3 (fixed by Ford)

- Rattling A Pillar Trim (fixed by Ford)

- Squeaky clutch pedal (fixed by Ford)

- Washer jets fuse blown(replaced fuse)

- Failing bootlid struts(replaced by Ford)

- Steering twitchy and tramlining (not identified by Ford therefore not fixed)

- Stolen Aerial (kindly replaced by Ford free of charge at its first service)

I would be interested in what response or fix is applied to your twitchy steering and tramlining. Mine has started, and I have been putting it down to the tyres beginning to lose their initial grip.

Cheers

same here but the other day was my first proper motorway journey so i thought it was normal!

looks like i'm not the only one with this steering issue. i have had the wheel geometry checked and tracking was spot on but camber was way out, which suggests somethig seriously wrong as its not adjustable and can't be 'knocked out' like tracking. i will update once the car has been in on thursday

just a little update, swapped the front tyres with the back and it seems alot better, although its still there so that might be worth a try

Also just been to test drive a renault twingo sport, exactly like this...

twingo1603108.jpg

quite a smart little car But i have never been in anything so cheap, rattly and horrible to drive in my life! and for a 1.6 VVT 133BHP it was gutless as hell. Got back in my fiesta and it was like driving a Roll-Royce, so deffernatly going to be keeping her once all the problems have been sorted.

Very nice looking car the Twingo

I remember it on top gear with Clarkson kicking the .... out of it though
