engine oil capacity ecoboost 1.0

Featured Replies

greetings to all 🙂

I've got this question, according to my owners manual (mk8 fiesta ecoboost 100ps automatic) the engine oil capacity ( with filter ) is 4.6 , while for other vehicles having the same engine (ecoboost 1.0) the capacity is 4.1 with filter , perhaps the mk7 fiesta or the focus , sure I will stick to the manual but I'm curious to find out why is that difference ? does it have something to do with oil sump capacity being different from one vehicle to another ? I guess not, its the same engine , but different capacities 🙂 could any body help me out ?

from my experience many years ago, fords that had the same engine sometimes had different shape sumps to cope with what was under the engine eg. subframe. I am going back to cortinas capris escorts etc.  I do not know if they held different amounts of oil but certainly some sumps were different shapes.   Perhaps some modern cars also use same engine but have different sumps on. I am only guessing.

thanks for considering 🙂 but I think that the 1.0 ecoboost oil sump is the same whatever the application is , its confusing actually !! 😄

On my paper manual it says 4,1 liters with the filter assembly. In my digital manual which I view via Fordpass Android software it says 4,6 liters. I bet the 4,6 is in the oil dipstick max mark and the 4,1 is between the min and max. Maybe theyve changed it to protect the oil bath timing belt.
