Flip Key Blade Bent...Advice....need fast as no spare now.

Featured Replies

First thing does these just pop off as don't want to snap anything.

Also is it easier just to buy a new body end with blank blade and get it cut if they cut it like that in the bottom half of the body.

And any links for the best ones in quality etc.

Help needed on this as the picture below shows, the person who had my car before has glued the cover and as on the picture the chip was glued.

So i have 2 new blank keys coming with no chip as you can see it just broke being carbon as i tried everything to get it out but yellow dried glue everywhere.

I would pick a better word thane cheesed off but on here,a dam easy job turns to a money job.

Argh ***** man,, some ***** people have you tried taking to the car to see if it still recognises it ,or is it proper knackered....

Was it just the blade bent originally before you destroyed the rest of it? . In future the blade is removed by tapping out a small roll pin . If you look closely at fob you will see it.

Pin out then blade comes out. Putting the blade in a vice to straighten.

The blade is usually removable [emoji21]

There should be a small drift pin holding it into the fob cap.

Think it's 2mm in diameter pin punch to tap out pin

For future reference for others in similar position with damaged blade

Yes the blade bent but the problem i had is it was glued so when i clipped it off on the one end it cracked the plastic.

I looked at a few videos on youtube and it showed just clip off where key hides away and it pulls apart but this was glued and also the Transponder was,you can just see the glue.

Where is this small pin as it never shows it on youtube its just clip one side and pull it open.

Got 2 blanks from Amazon on the way the whole shell with no board etc but i need help on where and what type of Transponder do i get so i will get key cut and programmed.

Look at my photo and you can see where the pin goes , knock the pin out and blade slides out. You wouldn't have needed to remove any of the rest of fob.

I can see the small pin hole on the key blade itself, strange as all the videos never say this dam things.
Anyway it's done now just finding a Transponder now where to get one.

I've had to have lots of blades cut and fitted to remote fobs. Our drivers at work have a habit of loosing keys. (  both keys) . Usually left in another vehicle to be found 6 months later.

Well the blade would not of come out and i have got a fine pin to try to push it out and won't move so must have bent it or something so in

one way at least it couldn't of been done this way, all videos I have seen anyway shows you removing the whole blade as it slots over a round plastic bit

with the spring on it not 1 shows me the pin.

Where is the best place for a new Transponder chip as I know it's the 80 bit one but is eBay the way to go here.

Just rang up our local locksmith, they will supply transponder and cut key and program for £50 so asked him about the 2 as I'm getting 2 and said £80 so don't think that's to bad.

2 new key fobs arrived off Amazon for £9.99 prime and A1 just clips off with very little force on blade end and battery end.
Proves the one I broke was glued as nothing like these 2.

Cheers all for your help on this, all done and sorted now for as little as £94 and that's 2 keys which I did only want one so in total now I have 3 spares.

I recommend a place called...Global Security as they Laser cut 2 keys and had their chips and programmed all for £84 and the keys came from Amazon £9.99 for 2.
