Ok thanks for reply .. will get to the bottom of this one way or the other 👍🏽

was the old pump still running or was it dead? is the new one running? did you check fuse?  did you read the fault codes through the OBD socket which might have been more specific. were any checks made to ensure it was the pump that was faulty as opposed to wiring/power to the pump or a sensor.

If anyone else is reading this and not sure what system they have, they have a traditional hydralic power steering rack with fluid being pumped to is by an electric pump (not a belt driven pump). I think pump location is roughly speaking under the battery.

Dezwez, if coded to car can it be done with Forscan software do you know?

(forscan is free for windows and about 6 quid for apple/android)

Isetta,

thanks for your reply

The old pump was not running  as it was dead.

Strangely the new one, once connected in place is also dead , therefore i suspect a wiring issue .

I did check all fuses in the car and couldn’t see any in the engine bay.???

The AA guy that recovered the car had a diagnostic tool and he said their was no comms from power steering circuit.

Does anyone know if there is a sensor/ module for the electric pump ?
