Fiesta heating problem :/

Featured Replies

My fiesta 1.4 zetec mk6 Hester has stopped I’ve changed the blower motor and put in a new resister under the foot well but it got so hot I couldn’t touch it! Was wondering if that’s fine? But as I quickly tested it as got unsure it only worked on number 3

bit unclear . what got hot, the air from the heater or the resistor?  don't know about the fiesta but i replaced resistor pack on a focus mk1. when fitted in place the resistor pack was within the air ducting so the air going through the ducting cooled the resistor.  if testing the resistor out of the normal fitting place then it would get pretty hot. is number 3 the highest or does it go higher. based on the focus, the fastest fan speed does not use any resistors, the resistors only get used on the slower fan speeds. also there was a thermal fuse built in as a safety feature. when the thermal fuse blew the fan would only work on the highest number.
