How to tell if my fiesta mk8 has the GPF?

Featured Replies

Hi friends!

I'm looking for a way to tell if my 125hp fiesta is the euro 6 or euro 6.2 version. My Mk8 is a 2019 ST-Line that i bought on march. I was not aware that there were different mk8 versions (euro 6 or 6.2) until i looked at revo and spotted that they just released the euro6 remap.

My car might had been built by the end of 2018 but I'm not really sure.

So as the topic asks, where can i check which fiesta version I've got?

Thanks!

The plate on the door pillar should say if it is Euro 6 or 6.2.

What exactly is a GPF and the advantages of euro 6.2 over euro 6 ?

Thanks

GPF is gasoline particulate filter...it's the petrol equivalent to a DPF.  They work differently though and in theory GPF's shouldn't block up as easily as DPF's do.  There have been some issues with them but it seems to mostly be software related so far, rather than driving style related.

Emissions get tighter and tighter over time, there's not really any advantage of E6.2 to the driver, but over millions of cars across Europe it should reduce overall emissions levels.

Etis will also tell you, but you might need to make a free account as an independent operator

Not sure either. My V5C says exactly the same even though my car is a Euro 6.2.

strange , mine is mk8 2019 100ps , build date is 16-10-2018, and it is euro 5 ( written on the door pillar and on ford etis ) , and for sure it hasn't got gpf 🙂

Thank you very much.

Etis lists my car as Euro 6.2 and the build date is 23/11/2018 .

Will check the door pillar later.

This is sad :( i really wanted to remap my fiesta. I hope the filter never gives me any issue.

Some members have remapped their gpf fitted cars. Only issue afaik is that some remappers have not yet released their Euro 6.2 software.
