Fiesta MK7 Back middle seat belt replacement.

Featured Replies

Recently, our new puppy was on the back seat of our fiesta. Whilst he was there he decided to chew the middle back seat belt to bits.

Now having a seat belt full of holes and bite marks would surely fail its MOT, which is coming up soon.

I've looked at the seat and there doesn't seem to be any way to get at the seat belt, which I've already got a replacement for.

Is it accessible, and if so how can i get at it to put the new one in?

You need to remove the seat cover to access the bolt that holds the seat belt reel in.

Hi, don't know if you ever need to use that seat belt or seat, or if MOT due right now and you need to resolve quickly to get MOT.

Mot manual is on govt website. Looking at table 5 in appendix C i think it might be saying that you only have to have 2 seat belts on the rear seats. So you can just cut the middle one off with knife.  But I might be misunderstanding it.    Might be worth you looking into this if desperate (eg. mot expires tomorrow)

I've managed to get the front cover off of the seat, but i don't really know where to go from there.

The plastic holes where the headrest go in seem to stopping me from taking it off further and i don't really know how to remove them.

In the picture you can see how far I've gotten.

Anyone know where to go from here?

The headrest tubes come out by putting a flatblade screwdriver down the side of tube and press a tang on tube. Not easy to explain. Will see if I can find an image.

But more importantly, I got a feeling the seat back cover is glued on which covers the bolt. Try pulling the seat back cover slightly on a corner to see if is.

Any luck with this?  I can see the attachment but not got a clue how to get to it.
