Sync 2 nav

Featured Replies

Hi @Bannko just got a 16 kuga followed so many instructions to activate nav but not quite Carling,

So far I have changed numbers with forscan and added navipatch, I was already on 3.08 so havent updated that.

I have the insert sd card and small compass but it wont accept any cards at all, is there a nav software I have to install? If so this could be the issue, could you help please as I hear your the guy for it?

Hi mate. Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I am trying install nav to my 15 plate focus and have no idea. Could you help?

There are 2 sync2 screens. Unless you have the one from the factory with the nav already built in, installing a card for the nav will do nothing, My neighbour had this problem with his ranger. He was told by ford, he would be best to buy a new screen from a breakers yard that has the nav in it. Apparently you can have the screens re-programmed but never found a definite answer.

I'm afraid you are incoreect.
The nav data is fully resident in the APIM module and nothing to do with screens.
Many people here have successfully activated navigation on sync2.
As long as the screen shows a compass in the top right quadrant then it confirms you have the correct APIM and therefore you can definitely add nav.
@Bannko is the go-to guy with full instructions and relevant links.

@David1421 if you are sure that you have the Sync2 as Stoney described above than it is really easy task to do. Just confirm us firstly what screen you have there in your Foxus.

I have just applied this change yesterday and I now have the (insert sd nav card) displaying in the top right. Previously it would say (information) I’m assuming this now should work when I have bought the relevant sd card? I did try the card out of my 64plate focus titanium navigator but the kuga wouldn’t read it. I’m assuming they use separate cards completely. Thanks

You need a card with the F prefix (F7 or F8)

Cheers @Stoney871 do you know why mine wouldn’t be showing navigation application number in the system information? Thanks

Possibly as you haven't inserted a working SD card yet.
When a new card is inserted the system does a quick update of the nav system software.

My neighbour is going to be gutted, he even bought the sd card and gave it away for free when I didn’t work.

@Bannko I have the screen with the compass at the top corner is that the correct screen?

Yes, that is the SYNC2 unit where you can do the sat nav activation.

Ok cool is it easy enough to do could you help me through it @Bannko

Just completed Sat nav activation on my 2015 focus. Many thanks to @Bannko for excellent instructions and help throughout. Made the job very easy. Top man 👍🏻

Hi, I have just purchased a c max titanium and I too am looking to install a sat nav. I have the screen which I split into quarters with the compass in the top right corner with 'information system' wrote above it.

Would you be able to help set the navigation up please?

Thanks, Mike
