Rear Door Edge Protector Guard Repair?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have Door Edge protectors for my focus mk3 and they've become somewhat stiff. and have tried to spray some grease where the guard would pop out (not the door edge) is there a way i can repair it by removing it from the door panel and repairing it?

Thanks!

If anyone knows the answer to this i would like to know as well. I have the same problem with the arm not retracting quickly enough with driver door closure & getting trapped.

I’m wondering if the inner cable is starting to bind up , cables nowadays seem to be coated with plastic and slides inside the plastic liner . I think once they start to snag up it’s becoming worn or gummed up. Or if it’s been greased or oiled it could become gummed up . Perhaps if you thoroughly try and clean the inner cable and blow out with a airline it might run more freely. Perhaps spraying WD40 inside the cable and working it through then blow the residue out to make it run more freely . Just a suggestion, that would be what I would try first before buy a new cable
