Posting Pics

On other forums, when I wanted to post a pic, I used Tinypic and before that Imageshack. They were free, you didn't have to register to upload pics, and they automatically resized them. However both have closed down. So what is the best (free) way to upload and share pics?

On here, there seams to be car How-too guides, but no Forum guides/FAQs. I have searched, honest!!

I share direct from camera roll using the Tapatalk app. Works perfectly and the image never expires either.

As the screenshots below show (uploaded using this method)

Press 'click to choose files'

Press 'my files' (might be different on iOS)

Press 'images'

I don't use Tapatalk (whatever it is), I can't download or update apps anymore on my 4 year old (android) phone anyway, it's ran out of space. What I was meaning is uploading pics/vids on a laptop. You can't (easily) upload pics from a proper camera or ones taken from the web on a phone.

To upload pictures and video from your camera or phone you have to plug it into your PC using the USB/charge lead, switch on the phone or camera, the PC then looks for it and when it finds the 'device' it will or should automatically install it (drivers), your PC should then open a dialog box asking you, with a list of, where you want your pictures/video downloaded to file, with a camera you may need to press the OK button on the camera if on it's screen it wants you to set it to 'PC mode'. If when you plug in the camera or phone to the PC and nothing happens then you'll need to go into your PC 'settings', click on 'devices' (it may be 'camera, printers and other devices') and then click on 'add device' where the PC will then 'search for connected devices' and install it.

Thanks, I use the SD-card slot in my PC to transfer pics to the computer, but that was not my original question:

How do I post picture(s) from my computer on this forum so that they appear in a post?

I'm not near the PC just now, but is there a 'Click to choose files' option as shown?

Yep, exactly the same on laptop using Edge...  There is also the option to drag & drop files into the same place!

@Jim H Are you using something other than Edge?  Internet explorer/Chrome/Firefox etc?  Might be different on them.

Just thought i'd try it, these are the problems i am faced with on my Renault Trafic, plus speedo refuses to work.

Not all forums have this option, but is on this forum and can be seen at the bottom of the reply box.

  • Drag files here to attach, or choose files...

Thank you for those answers. I had seen the "Attach files". Is there a limit on the size of pic (MB & pixel) you can post and how may you can post? I have read there are bigger limits if you're a paid-up "Premium" member.

Does attaching or the site above re-size you pic so it's readable on a screen? The sites I used to use could resize them to 800 x 600 pixels, which was ideal for forums.

This one is an image hosting site that automatically resizes images for forums, copy and paste, very simple, take a look.

I'm not a premium member and have never reached the limit if there is one.  The forum automatically resizes pictures for us, but the downside is that it also reduces the picture quality.  You can click on the image to see the original one though.
