Focus Ecoboost 1.0 MK3 - Petrol in Oil / Oil Thinning

Featured Replies

Hello - I was hoping someone maybe able to help.  I have a ford focus 1.0 ecoboost (mk3). The oil rises and I think it smells of fuel - the oil is above on the oil stick level. I have replaced the oil (recommend grade) and filter but still rises and oil looks thin.  Also got 02 sensors bank1 sensor1 message and pending fault - system too rich at idle bank 1 (using a cheap elm3 obd2 scanner) - the engine light and fault comes and goes off.

Took it too a couple of garages - no one has had a proper look yet but they saying it could be fuel pump or seal (on engine body) or injectors.

The car runs fine - does not sound rough.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I have the same problems, petrol in oil. Did you solved the problem?

Thanks,

Alex

I replaced MAF sensor, both o2 sensors, throttle body, air filter, I checked intake if exist carbon deposit on the intake valve. The compression is 10+ on all 3 cylinders. Sometimes when engine is hot I have hard starting.

I replace oil 3 times and the oil is still rising. In rest the car runs very good.

The error is: p2188 -fuel control system too rich at idle (bank 1).

Let me know if you solved the problem.

Thanks,

Alex.
