Looking to remap my 125 ps eco boost

Featured Replies

Looking to remap my eco boost and not sure whether to go for a remap or to get a superchip bluefin, just curious as to what is recommended, thanks

Hi I purchased a Bluefin for a 1.0 titanium 2016, if I had not done it myself I would have said the engine was swapped out, massive difference but bear in mind it had 98BHP and then instantly had 140BHP. I think you will only get another 15BHP added, as I was told that's about as much as you can reliably get without getting issues later.

I will add that I also found that after I used the Blue Fin that the car would freeze up, just once, after I pulled a battery lead for a few minutes, it was all ok and nothing else happened.

At least with blue fin you can uninstall as you please, it was slightly cheaper I think about 300 when I did it.   Oh and I found I had to uninstall for the MOT as it failed on emissions test, so I just removed and re added, although Super chips did send me an updated file, I just always uninstalled for MOT after the first time as I could not be bothered to to go through fail process.

Perfect thanks for that

Superchips are currently in liquidation. They had a blog post on their website a couple months back sighting coronavirus as the reason behind the liquidation. It appears that post has disappeared now (or I can't see the pop up on their website anymore). Companies House still says they're in liquidation though.

Yeah I’d seen something on there as well but I then went on and couldn’t find it so wasn’t sure what happened, think I’m just gonna go with the standard remap, thanks

  • 4 weeks later...

If anyone is interested I have the Bluefin Superchips module and cables for my old fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost, if you can unlock the VIN it could be used to upgrade another car.
