Ford Focus CC roof problem

Featured Replies

Hi. I have a 2008 focus cc. I have only had the car a few months. When I bought it the owner demonstrated the roof working up and down fine no problems. However the first time I put the roof down it got stuck half way on closing. The roof didn’t fully close up at the middle and the luggage comp was stuck in the air. I tried a few time’s but kept getting roof malfunction service required. I called green flag and when the mechanic arrived it went straight back fully closed. Now everytime I put the roof back up it sticks in exactly the same position everytime. I have to leave it and then press the button again around 45 mins later and it then decides to fully close. Not ideal if it rains and I need to put the roof up quickly. Any ideas? Green flag man suggested might be the battery but seems strange how it would work later if that’s the case when the engine hasn’t been running

Sounds sensor related to me.
Afaik there are sensors on the roof and boot divider cover that all have to be within parameter for the roof to function at all.

Did you notice if they had their fingers crossed? 😀

I had A Ford CC. From what I remember there are 3 sets of sensors. If they arent happy then you will get issues. There are micro switches in the boot area. They might beed checking. Also any dirt, rubbish stuck in the linkages? Failing that then it needs a ford specific diagnostic reader.

Hi Quinn you are not going to get an answer from Suzie, like so many time wasters she joined 16th June 2020 made a visit to the forum on 18th June 2020 and was never seen or heard of again.

You might hit lucky and someone else may be able to answer you

I would recommend taking it to a ford dealer who actually understands how these convertibles work (just to save time and money). There are 11 sensors that operate the roof plus a hydraulic pump and some rams, it's more than likely 1 sensor playing up but they need to understand how they work to diagnose it correctly. It could also just be something as simple as the hydraulic fluid level is low.

  1. Hello, I have a 2007 Ford Focus cc, I have a problem with the roof, I had not driven the car for 1 month and the battery had fallen, after I left a new one, the roof did not want to be removed, when I want to lift it the button works, but the removal does not work. my car reads comp.separetor. and my light is on

Basicly this. I know its A complex system, so needs attention from SOmeone who knows. You coiuld try an indy garage I guess, but wether they can sort it or not is another thing.

Hi Quinn i have exactly the same problem with the roof. Did you sorted?  If so can you tell me how please. Thanks

What is it with this pointless thread ?

people join, post "I have the exact same problem" and never come back.

Once again @Andrei08 you are not going to get an answer from Quinn, (who after asking Suzie) has not been back to the forum since 27th July 2021.
