LED Indicators hyperflashing

Featured Replies

Hey guys, wondering if anyone can help me. Ive got a 2009 fiesta style, Its got LED indicator flasher bulbs in it which is causing hyperflashing. Ive been told and found online that yu can replace the flasher relay with one designed for LEd bulbs. However i cant seem to find the actual relay itself. Ive found the fuse and changing that does nothing to fix the issu. so now i need to find the flasher relay but im having trouble. any help would me much appreciated.

Thanks guy&girls

You don't need a flasher relay, the problem is the CANbus system. The car thinks there is a lamp blown because the LED draws considerably less current than a standard halogen.

What you need is an inline resister, it goes between the socket the lamp plugs in to and the new LED unit. They are plug and play and require nothing more that what you did to change the bulb in the first place.

These are expensive but easier to fit if you don't know how to use scotch locked (super simple things to use scotch locks)

These ones use scotch lock connectors and are cheap, easy and effective.

Or you could just buy a set of more expensive bulbs with built in resistors.

LED bulbs are great everywhere except indicators, just put some silver standard bulbs in

I had the same problem with a set of Autobulb's twenty20 'CANbus error free' bulbs and they recommended I exchanged them for the 'HF0' version (https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/581-twenty20-HF0-LED-indicator-bulbs.html) and I've had no issues at all with the replacements.

I installed cheap US$ 5 per pair into mine and no hyperflashing.
