Focus Mk1 Airbag Light

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've been doing up a Mk1 Focus for my girlfriends dad, and it needed a replacement steering wheel.

I disconnected the negative for 30 mins, removed the airbag, then the wheel, refitted the new wheel, the same airbag, and connected the battery.

And now I have a flashing airbag light.

It flashes once, then nine times, signifying code 19 which is the clock spring. Is there a chance I could have damaged it? I barely touched it. Unless there's something else I can look for?

Any help would be appreciated!

I've just bought a code reader that reads and clears SRS airbag codes. I'm hoping I can clear it and it'll be fine as I literally didn't touch the clock spring.

If I clear it and it does come back however, then at least I know that I need a new clock spring.
