My ‘Live Traffic’ Option is Greyed Out

Live Traffic has worked in the past, but for the last several weeks I have been unable to turn on ‘My Live Traffic’ option as the button is greyed out.

I have contacted FordPass support ([email protected]) but I was wondering if anyone has had this happen to them or have any ideas as to the cause of the problem.

When logging into my ‘Ford Pass App’ it previously correctly showed under Vehicle Details/Subscriptions/Live Traffic that my complimentary 2 year subscription end date is 22 Dec 2020'

Now under Vehicle Details/Subscriptions/SUBSCRIPTIONS/ MANAGE SUBSCRIPTIONS the message has changed to “Everything you need to manage your subscriptions can be found by logging into your account at:” Ford.co.uk/ford-account.

However, when I log into my ‘On Line Ford Account’ it shows a Subscriptions Box but when clicking on ‘View Subscriptions’ there is no reference to my ‘Live Traffic’ Subscription and it shows the following message.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

NO SUBSCRIPTIONS AVAILABLE

There are no subscription services available for your vehicle at this time. Please contact customer service if you believe you have received this message in error.

 

Do you think this is down to Customer Services to sort out or is there anything I can do to try and solve the problem?

I’ve got exact same situation. Although your cars older.  my 2 year ‘free’ subscription was due to run out September 2021. “If you believe you Received this message in error” . Pretty sure it must be an error.

i have a phone number for FordPass app support if that’s any good to you

Thanks, yes the number would be very useful.

My sub is due to expire 22 December 2020 but I have not been able to use Live Traffic for at least a month but probably longer that that. 

You say you are in the same situation or did you eventualy get it sorted ?

Also, I believe you are on the same sync version 3.3 as me, but apart from the Live Traffic option button do you also get the Local Hazard Information option button ?

I only have the Live Traffic option button.

I didn’t realise I was in the same situation until your post! Checked my app...same message in ‘subscriptions’. Haven’t checked car yet but I assume it’ll be the same. I’ll see tomorrow. Can’t be a time thing cause my car is October 2019..yours is earlier ? 
yes I’m on same 3.3 19052 (I think). Didn’t use Live traffic much but was definitely there before. 
local hazard information button I don’t think I’ve ever had that option.

they helped me with the App when I first got the car. 
if I remember correctly the ford tech ended up unplugging the battery , plugged back up , seemed to be that that sorted it. Not sure. 

Live Traffic and Local Hazard Information are surely the same thing!?!

It appears that some Owners on sync 3.? have the display showing the Live Traffic and Local Hazard Information options.

However, my sync 3.3 (and I assume yours?) only display the Live Traffic option.

As you can see Live Traffic is greyed out on my display. (Top picture)

As we thought we are both on 3.3.

It may be that the other display shown in my previous post is exclusively for sync 3.4 owners.

Could someone please confirm.

Live traffic has gone from my MY18.5 Focus. Logged in to the new ford account which was as useful as a chocolate teapot. Contacted Ford live chat and that was a total waste of time, thino
 the chat team have no idea what day it is? 
 

anyone any solutions to the live traffic issue? 

My Live Traffic isn’t grey. But...

I was thinking “requires Vehicle data sharing” maybe an option in the app. But I’ve not changed any preferences and have journey tracking Off. 

Exactly the same here. Looks like yet another Ford cockup!

Ok, so your Live Traffic Is switched on (blue) even though you have a message in your online Ford account saying No Subscriptions Available.

That’s confusing, I was hoping my problem would be down to the fact that I also have that No Subscriptions Available Message.

Also, I would like to know how the system knows that you have a valid Live Traffic Subscription. Does this information come from the app or is it information sent from Fords servers to the cars built in modem.

I will chase up FordPass support and see what they say.

Alex, thanks for the Ford Pass team telephone support number. 👍

I have just spoken to them and they have confirmed that I have a valid Live Traffic Subscription.😀
However, they have also confirmed that there is currently a problem with the FordPass app in so far as it’s not communicating with the vehicle and allowing me to select the Live Traffic option.
I think this is also potentially affecting other users.
They have acknowledged the emails that I have sent regarding this problem and hope to provide an update/fix to the app in the next few days.

Let us know how you get on, as you say it’s potentially affecting others..

Although I am still awaiting an official response from the Ford Pass Support team I noticed that there has been a recent FordPass App update.

I was on android version 3.3.0. but apparently the latest is 3.4.0.

After deleting ver 3.3.0. and then installing ver 3.4.0. my ‘Live Traffic’ option was no longer greyed out and I am pleased to say I am now able to select it.😀

now tell me, how do I get 3.4 ??

thru the Fordu.ck website? 
 

my understanding was the older Fords were getting the update first? Which makes no sense to me at all!

Yes, its the FordPass App I am referring to and the latest Android version is 3.3

Like you and many others I am also waiting for Sync 3.4. !!

Actually the latest  FordPass is 3.4.0 GBR.   I did  check because this week the Oil Life indicator actually came up on mine for he first time in 12 months
