Fiesta MK6 Earth (ground) locations

Featured Replies

Hi all. Having a few weird issues with my car.

Randomly it won’t lock as it thinks the drivers door is open.

On occasions if you open the passengers window (with the switch on the passengers side) it will show a message saying drivers door open and the cabin light comes on.

The button On the dash to release the boot Sometimes doesn’t work, again intermittent.

At first I thought it was the sensor in the drivers door but I think is is bigger than that. As I mentioned above using the passengers window switch causing the drivers door open error?

it feels like a bad ground, I would be keen to check most of these, would someone have a list of there location for a mk6 (2007) fiesta 3 door?

Ryan,

There is a lot of them, all listed in Haynes manual.  I think Nearside and Offside door "furniture" use different earth points.

As far as I can work out:

Door locks use E6

Mirrors use E5(LH) and E6 (RH)

Electric windows E5 and E6

GEM uses E8 and E9

E5 and E6 Inner Sills

E8 RH inner sill behind E6

E9 bottom of LH A post

I'm currently replacing LH front door lock on our Fusion as it gives intermittent "Passenger Door Open" indications, which either stop the doos locking, or set the alarm off at inconvenient moments.
