Replacing a stereo Sony??

Featured Replies

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help

I love my little 09 Fiesta Titanium however the Stereo is a little naff! The Bluetooth connection is clunky and the radio reception isn't great so am considering upgrading it.

I've seen the Sony Head Units look like a like for like fit can anyone advise the cost buying one  of having one fitted?

Don't really fancy doing it myself as have tried on different cars to mixed results!

Thank you in advance ☺

You'll probably not find a garage willing to carry out this sort of work. A lot of them won't want the hassle of making sure parts will fit and have to guarantee second hand parts (the cost of a new stereo and screen will have you question is it worth it). Defo a DIY job. It's all plug and play though and about an hours work for a newbie.

The signal problem is more likely an aerial issue than the radio itself.

Changing the radio for the sony also won't fix the Bluetooth. The Bluetooth module is separate and located above the passenger footwell. The Sony stereo uses the same Bluetooth module. You'd have to go aftermarket to change the way your bluetooth works unfortunately.
