Remaps and dealer pcm updates?

Featured Replies

I recently got my mk8 1L ecoboost tuned to 150HP and I'm wondering what I should do, should there ever be any pcm updates for the car, will this be an issue when the dealer tries to carry out any pcm updates? Should I have the tune removed before I get the updates done? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I wouldn't be worrying about the dealer performing any updates, you normally have to put a gun to their heads to get them to do it.

I would ask the dealer if it's part of the general servicing. I bought my (2 and 1/2 year old at the time) car from a Ford owned dealer (not franchise) and took out a service plan with them and they checked and updated my car.

They won't update it as a routine, but if there are any outstanding service actions, i.e. Ford have said it requires an update, not just to fix things, but as a pre-cautionary measure, they will do them.

You can usually check on Etis, so see if your car has any oustanding service actions.
