Mk6 fiesta zetec door open fault.

Featured Replies

Hi I have a Mk6 fiesta zetec that has an intermittent fault.  The display states that the passenger door is open when it's closed.  When this happens the central locking will not lock the car.  Spraying WD40 in to the lock area temporarily fixes it but only for a short while.  I don't want to take the door panel off as it's a bit of a pain to do so.  I've heard that you can trick the GEM so that it thinks the door is shut all the time.  I know that if this is done when the door is open it will not warn me.

Does anyone know what wires I have to short earth and suggest a good place to earth them.

Thanks

Why don't you actually fix it properly instead of bodging it?

You'd probably have to link out the wires at the connector on the door lock mechanism anyway so door card will have to come off.
