locks and ignition

transponder ring

speedo

any thing else ? i have a donor car that has no floor in it  and the same as mine so is there any thing i have not mentioned above ? also any tips of reseting any thing ?

Locks and keys to match, ecu, dash binnacle, ignition barrel.
You don't need to swap the transponder ring unless it's integral to the ignition barrel.

2 Key, 2 ecu's,  locks and ignition, transponder ring, speedo all moved over to my car and now i'm back on the road 🤗

Let this be a lesson to anyone who has only one key for their car. It’s a lot of hassle. I know if you only have one Key it’s not easy to program a new 2nd key but it can be done on a lot of fords using forscan

Lucky for me i had a donor car i should have thought the ecu's well all the parts would cost a fortune.

The lessons to take away here-

If you have only one key for your car it is very sensible to get another one as a priority.

If you are looking at buying a used car and it only has one key ask for a second to be made as a term of the purchase or seriously consider walking away.

Another thing to keep in mind also- if it's a private sale and the car is shown at a public area then be careful.
Do they still have the second key and could possibly just turn up at night and drive the car away and sell again?

If outside someones house or on a driveway a good trick is to ask if they could get you a drink of water or if you can use their loo, this helps to confirm if it's actually their house or they are just cheekily using sone innocent persons driveway.

The lesson here is to take more care over your keys!!

I never understand how people lose their keys or phone...  It's either in your pocket, in the ignition, or in the bowl/hook/drawer (delete as appropraite)...do these people just get home and toss it in a random direction?

There's no chance I'd let anyone in to use the loo as a seller!  Trust works both ways sadly...I generally wouldn't trust a buyer as far as I could throw them...which isn't far!

I always carry a spare key (non-chipped) in my other pocket when I close the car... sometimes the central locking decides to operate all on its own, esp. in cold weather.

why do most people put all their keys like car  and house on one key ring. I don’t with mine, my theory is I don’t want to lose all in one go.

My car key and house keys are seperate bunches.
I'm lucky that if I ever get locked out of the house I have a spare house key hidden in the car and can unlock the car with my phone.
Spare car key is locked in a proper keysafe which stops gameboy hacking and is very break-in resistant.
New style sleep key also helps.
