St Line X Exhaust Fault

Featured Replies

Hi,

First time here and I have searched but not found anything like this.

I have a 68 plate Fiesta St Line X that has only done 10k and will be on its 3rd exhaust sensor. Its only done 1k in the past 5 months since the last one been swapped!   Is this a common fault or should I hassle my ford dealer more for them to take a closer look at it ?

Thanks

Joe

Been lurking on couple of Ford fiesta related forums for a few years. I don't think that it's very common for that part to fail.

The O2 sensors are quite common at the moment but generally after the faulty one has been replaced they're good to go. If you keep getting the same sensor fault then I think there's something more going on here 🤔

Thank for getting back to me, I will wait and see what ford will say and work out what to do next. I might ask them to swap it for an ST.

The Mrs had an 02 sensor changed when her StLx was about 2 months old. Never had a problem again with her's or mine.

No problems with mine (fingers crossed as ever!😀).

Can be a matter of luck/batch of faulty components with these I think. (Last problem we had with a sensor was about 15 years ago on the Mrs's Mk 1 Ka - failed shortly after she got it, no problems after replacement.)

They found some massive oil leak that was messing up with the senors, seems to be a major thing as it going to take them a week just to get all the parts.
