Air flow through Air conditioning

Featured Replies

I have a very intermittent problem which I'm interested if anyone else has experienced or solved. On a long journey on very hot day, with air conditioning on and temperature control on auto, (2016 fiesta 1.0 ecoboost titanium) the airflow through the vents will suddenly reduce as if the fan has been turned down very low, however it is hot outside and the aircon has not achieved the desired temperature. Turning auto on and off, air conditioning on and off has no effect, and if you turn auto off and manually put the fan on full, the airflow is still minimal. At this point you can still hear the fan running fast, just minimal air flow from vents. Recirculation is off. Initial thought was blocked pollen filter but this is in good condition. Fiddling with temperature and air direction controls eventually cleared problem but then it returned later on. As I'm driving I can't be scientific about what I did to clear it. To me it sounds like a sticking flap or something. Is this something someone has experienced before and solved?
