Pinx
Hi, I just bought a 1992 Mk3 with 1.1L HCS CFI (one fuel injector) engine. I can't get it on the road because it fails to pass inspection. At idle the amount of HC is too high, meaning that there is too much unburnt fuel. At higher revs is goes back to normal. Idle revs are at 910 rpms. Is this to high or normal for idle? I'm new to cars and can't figure out what the problem is. Last owner suggested buying new throttle body sensor. Any suggestions on what else I should check before I go out to buy a new sensor?
