Roofbox weights

Featured Replies

Have a 2019 mk8 Fiesta Active Ecoboost 125.

I have got a 200 mile journey coming up and will need to put roof box on the roof rails to carry about 20-25 kg's, I don't want to stuff it all inside the car.

There will be just driver and 1 passenger, do I need to increase the tyre pressures for the journey? Speeds will be between 60 & 70 mph for most of the way, I've never used a roof box before.

Don't think the tyre pressures need adjusting as you only have one passenger and the extra weight doesn't equal another ( It's only about 4 stone) .   However, a roof box will cause an awful lot of drag and it would be much more efficient to put the stuff in the car.
