Different brand tyre on same axle

Sorry too bother you all again. I have a problem on my car that has been there for a year now and I still haven't found the cause.

I have a whining noise while the car is idling.

The noise only occurs when the revs reach around the 800 rpm mark where its idling when warm.

The noise is still there whether I press the clutch in or not and doesn't change when doing that.

The noise isn't present when driving and when I rev the car the noise goes away but comes back when the revs come back down too idle.

It sound like it's coming from the front of the engine but I can't really pinpoint the exact whereabouts. Any ideas?

Cheers

Here is a video of the noise.

I know this is your thread, but the above has nothing to do with tyres. :offtopic:

I'd suggest you start a new topic/thread with a new title, then copy/paste the above problems. However, I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your problems, but other people may do.

I have had another thread up for a while but I haven't had any answers so I thought someone might actually know on here

Be careful with that. Bentley and Seat are the same company. They clearly don't make cars to the same quality and standard as each other though...

which is better? lol

Had a couple of SEATs (Mrs still has hers). Cars are ok, it's the dealers that were the problem. Maybe Bentley are better - bet they charge even more, anyway!😀

A few years ago I remember seeing this question to Honest John: Does my Audi Have a Skoda engine?  Basically the answer was VW Audi Group own Skoda and share many parts, so no need for any concern.

I've seen if you carefully peel off the Skoda badge from the engine cover from an Octavia, it has a VW one underneath. Plus (going back to tyres), I've seen Cooper Rallycross tyres (for World RX) that you can still faintly see Avon tyre marking on the sidewall.
