Hello there ladies and gents, boys and girls, cats and dogs.

where to start.... so first of hello there hope your all well during this time. my names rob from essex england uk. i have 1.4 tdci fiesta in 09 plate and have come across a sticky situation and i prey that someone can help me. so my car miss fired once in blue moon but not enough for me to give a monkey at the time. anyway this slowly got more frequent so got diagnostic done at halfords as got free clutch, brake, health check etc any who it came back as thought cylinder 1 miss fire fuel injecto. so i ordered s new injector matching to my reg as a friend of mine said he would change it for me. after taking cam cover and rocker cover off etc we realised that this was wrong injector as mine is siemens and not bosch so my friend had a clean up and put back. still driveable and car started. drove to leeds (3-4 hours each way) fine until aprox half hour from home. smoke started to puff out from sides of bonet so pulled over and checked this out.. my injectors were chuffing bad with puffs of smoke. guessing seals are gone correct?? so i buy seals from ford. change and replace etc and now car wont start? after looking into this i beleive i rushed and didnt set injectors tight enough etc so was to much of a gap (compression leak ) so took off done again etc etc and boom i now belive these are sat well as no chuffing but still car doesnt start. ive bleed lines filter etc and guess what , yup still nothing  many peoople say this car is a fooker to get going with deisel  ok i get that but even if a fooker it still should go eventually? ive used easy start and got it going for like 2 secounds then cuts out looks like no fuel getting to injectors but is going to filter as bled it etc ive not touched the pump so defo shouldnt be anything like that    ive had all kinds of tom dik n harrys on it so perhaps made it worse and a bigger job.. im not sure if need a deisel expert or some one who is an actual mechanic rather than a hobbie lad on tour lol

I have a 2009 1.4 TDCI Fiesta, it's a fooker! That's all I have to add, looks like you've narrowed it down to fuel delivery problems so my usual recommendation of forscan is out the window (although if you plan on keeping the car, for less than £20 it's always useful to have a tunnel rat obd Bluetooth reader in the car) I'm sure I've been told or read somewhere to tow & tow it until it starts due to the type of fuel pump it has (my minds gone blank) stupid they took the in line hand primer off imo.

My mk6 1.4 tdci had a new injector put in and afterwards it was also a pain to start. I traced the issue to the EGR valve. I opened it up and cleaned all the inside out which was coked up badly, cleaned the motor and made sure the spindle moved freely, put it all back together, bled the fuel lines, cleared the codes using forscan, sprayed some easy start into the intake and fired her up first time. I believe that somehow the EGR was the reason the injector messed up in the first place and I now clean it as part of my service every year. Sorry im late you probably got rid of it by now but perhaps this can still help somebody.
