Boot leak 2010 focus zetec

Featured Replies

We have water coming into the boot of our 2010 focus zetec. We have found where its entering internally but can't find the external source.

We have removed all the plastic coverings and have found the water dripping in one of the holes above the quarter lights (the one closest to the rear of the car)

Has anyone else had a leak here that can point us in the direction of how to fix it?

Thanks!

Hi, I have the same problem with my MK2 06 Focus Estate. Water was coming in through the Plastic vent behind the Light Cluster which as far as i can make out has no rubber seal so i used Silicone around the edge of the Cluster and it worked on that side, however,it,s now leaking on the other side,so i got the Silicone out again but it,s still leaking in from somewhere but i can't see where it,s coming in from, what i was wondering was on the Estate the Rear Bumper is designed so badly that because of a dip along the top of it they,ve put 4 Drain holes but unfortunately after time they block up so i,ve unblocked them but Water still seems to be coming in from somewhere, just thought i,d let you know you,re not alone, hopefully someone will be able to offer up some remedies for a very annoying problem.

Hi both. I had the same problem and the water was entering the boot through the air vent louvres that sit behind the rear bumper on either side of the car. There are some fairly flimsy seals around the louvres and these had given up over time. I got a local bodyshop to sort mine. It cost me about £100 but all fine now.
