Problems starting

Featured Replies

Hi All

I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem that is starting to occur with my Focus 1.6 Petrol 2005 please. The problem is that on some occasions (seems to be only when warm) I have to crank the engine for a longer period than usual for it to catch (maybe 2-3 seconds).

Sometimes this extended cranking sorts it out, other times it doesnt start and its as if there is no fuel supply as the rev counter doesnt pick up to the usual idle revs level.

Then I immediately try it again and it starts straight up. Its very unusual for it to not start within 2 attempts. It doesnt do this every time it start the car - just on occasions (maybe 1 in 10 times) - and it seems to be only when the engine is warm. I've scoured the forums for similar problems but couldnt find any quite like mine - my first thought was a blocked fuel filter but I can't seem to find its location and then was told the this model doesnt have a fuel filter ??

Any helps would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance....
