I have just purchased a 2017 plate Ford Focus Zetec 1.0 Ecoboost.

 

It arrived yesterday with the Sync 2 system and I realised it doesn’t have automatic lights. It threw me as I sort of assumed a car that comes with Sat Nav would have “basic” features like automatic lights.

Can these be retro fitted and how difficult is it to do? 
 

I’m also missing my power folding wing mirrors (which my 2010 Fiesta had).

Auto lights, auto wipers and autodimming mirror come as a pack on premium models, Titanium and above.  Can't be easily retrofitted as you need a different windscreen for the sensor. 

As for powerfold mirrors, they were optional on everything except the Titanium X and possibly the ST3.

That made me smile, I wonder when it was that many of today's drivers get a panic attack by having to actually switch on their own lights when it gets dark LOL Oh, welcome to the forum... 😄

It’s crazy though because the car is actually for my wife who is replacing a 2010 Ford Fiesta. A Ford Fiesta with power folding mirrors and automatic lights.

 

Who would have thought buying a 7 year newer car would have less “basic” features (basic for the times we live in).

welcome probably why car was cheaper. Never assume things when buying a car do research. However if advert said these options included then its against trade description act and have every right to return for full refund for false advertising.

The Zetec trim level is a pretty basic trim level. The Zetec trim level does not include any of the what you consider to be "basic" features. On the other hand a Zetec can also be well equipped if the options list has been fully marked by the first owner who ordered the car. A well equipped Zetec has more features than a standard Titanium. On the other hand a Zetec will still have the (usually considered to be horrendous) unsupportive seats and lacks features like footwell lights and ambient lights on versions with halogen lights.

The only reason why many lower trim levelsvehicles are equipped with sat nav is because it was pretty inexpensive to upgrade the standard audio system to sat nav.
 

 A bit of research (brochures can easily be found on the internet) would have make clear that the Zetec is such a low trim level and would probalbly have prevented you from it.
