MK 4 FOCUS CAT POSITION

Featured Replies

Hi all

Due to the high number of Catalytic Converter thefts in the West Midlands which seems to be growing in my  area lately can anyone tell me where the Cat is situated on a 2019 1.0 Ecoboost Focus. I seem to remember that when I had my Mk1 1.8 it was very close to the Exhaust manifold in the engine bay which would have made it much harder for the SCUMBAGS to get to as apposed to being underneath the vehicle where they can just use a cordless reciprocating saw to cut the Cat off in seconds.

The cat is buried right up to the turbo above the front subframe. So pretty impossible to cut out/unbolt quicky. So your safe there. But your exhaust has a gpf which may be mistaken for a cat further down and easily cut off.

Thanks for the quick reply so its good news and bad news. At least they would not get what they thought they would but still a fairly hefty bill to replace the GPF although I presume not as expensive as a Cat.
